Last year, our staff had a big idea- we wanted to make our annual dinner auction, Hooked on Nature, totally original by inviting local chefs to make their best salmon dishes for our guests. We called it the Local Celebrity Chef Salmon Bake-Off. Guests and chefs had a blast in 2017. The bake-off was a hit. Everyone had a good time sampling the dishes and voting for their favorite ones. In the spirit of good fun and good food, Columbia Springs is bringing the event back this year with new and returning chefs, and a few surprises.

Five chefs representing Beaches Restaurant and Bar, Simply Thyme, Tommy O’s Pacific Rim Bistro, and Clark College’s Tod and Maxine McClaskey Culinary Institute will create their best salmon dishes for Hooked on Nature this year. The winning chef will bring home bragging rights and a fish trophy. Last year’s winner was Jeremy McLachlan from Salty’s in Seattle. Who will take the honors this year? I can’t wait to see!

At Columbia Springs, we take pride in being innovative, and our fundraisers are no exception. We want our guests to learn about the impact we make in the community, and at the same time enjoy excellent food, great company, and an evening they won’t soon forget.

This year, Hooked on Nature will take place on August 4th from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. at Clark College’s Gaiser Hall.
